Hello,
My name is Chan Park from Buenos Aires. You might recognize me as TangoZen guy.
I have been working on a documentary film titled "Tango Your Life," which is based on my experience of dancing, teaching, and living in Buenos Aires for 3 years. Before I moved to BA, I traveled to at least 22 countries/68 cities to teach tango. Then I discovered something about tango that one can only experience Buenos Aires.
I am trying to capture the tango, filled with personal and intimate feelings, through conversations with my tango friends in Buenos Aires. In fact, the life time-dancers, so called milonguers, in BA say the film reflects something that they have wanted to convey to their friends and family about their tango life. Basically they gave me two thumbs up as the stories and scenes are from the deep inside milonga cultures in BA.
During my latest trip to Europe as well as to some cities in the United States, I was able to show the work-in progress film, "Tango Your Live," to the workshop participants and some other interested audience. And even to some dancers/milongueros in Buenos Aires via online.
Overall the responses from the audience were quite positive and encouraging. To the students, it was an eye opening experience to see the film as many milongas featured in the film were totally different from what they had seen in internet, movies, or on TV. The dancers and milongueros in BA say the film reflects something that they have wanted to convey to their friends and family about their tango life. Basically they gave me two thumbs up as the stories and scenes are from the deep inside milonga cultures in BA.
In order to keep momentum running to complete the project, I am coming to ask for your financial support. As you can imagine, there are many challenges ahead to complete the film, including technical, legal, and financial challenges. The biggest challenge, for example, is music copyright issue, which might cost a large amount of money to clear. It's really difficult to do everything alone. So I need to rely on the tango enthusiasts, like yourself, your friends, and your students if you teach.
I have been running a fund raising event for this project, mainly to pay for the music copyright. Unfortunately the deadline of the fund raising is June 30. A funny thing about this fund raising campaign is so-called "all or nothing," and if I do not reach the goal by June 30, I don't receive anything. Please help.
I'd like to ask you to consider making a financial donation to help out the project:
http://www.kickst...-your-life
Any amount will help, and each donation will receive a reward, including a copy of book, online viewing of the film, download of the film, and even an opportunity to be an executive producer or an associate producer of the film.
Please check it out.
Also you can support the project by reaching out to your friends and students if you teach. Please encourage them to visit the above mentioned site to make their donation.
In addition you can ask them to help the project by linking an introduction of the project to their tango friends through the social media like Facebook, Twitter, etc.:
Thank you very much for your help, and I look forward to presenting the film to you very soon.
Regards,
Chan
